Surf’s up with Glassy

Underwater photo

Its Friday, so hold tight the weekend is coming! Before that though its time for the weekly recap to keep you lot up to date with whats been happening across our surfing community. The same order as always starting off with the longest session leading on to the most popular spot, then is the most improved surfer and finished up with the max swell. So without further ado here are this week’s stats…

A huge SHOUTOUT this week goes to Josimar Andrade who surfed a massive session in Brazil and tallied up and impressive amount of time in the water. Congrats!

Longest session8h at Ponta Negra, BRA

It was a close one but coming out on top this week for our most popular spot with a fair amount of sessions registered there was our Portuguese regular and now big contender as its appeared a few times in our Surf’s up with Glassy…

Most popular spot: 13 sessions at Costa de Caparica, PRT

Not sure if its déjà-vu but our SHOUTOUT for most improved surfer again goes to Mike Rosa with a massive amount of time registered charging waves. Well done man!

Most improved surfer: 31h 55m

Our records show that this week’s max swell was definitely some big surf! We hadn’t heard of this place until the massive waves were recored from a small island east of the Philippines! Maybe we should plan a surfing adventure there for “research purposes”

Max swell: 11.3m at University of Guam, GUM

Our favourite photo this week that was sent in over twitter using #TakeTheNextWave. We received a lot of sick photos but we could only choose one unfortunately. The following photo was taken in a surf spot called Las Machas by Rianvanu, ‏@rianvanu on twitter…….Sick pic!
